Did you know?

  • Robert Burns, Scotland's National Bard, was born in Ayrshire. You can visit his birthplace in Alloway.
  • Prestwick Airport is the only part of Britain that Elvis Presley ever set foot in - his plane stopped to refuel on 3 March 1960.
  • Prestwick Airport can be taken over exclusively for your business event.
  • An apartment in Culzean Castle was given to former US President Dwight D. Eisenhower in recognition of his role during WWII.
  • The town of Kilmarnock is the birthplace of world-famous whisky brand, Johnnie Walker.
  • Mauchline in Ayrshire has the only curling stone factory in Britain. Andrew Kay & Co and their forerunners in the town have made curling stones there since 1851.
