Celebrate Robert Burns

Taking place every year on Robert Burns’ birthday, January 25, Burns Night celebrates the life and works of Scotland’s most famous poet. Find out everything you need to know for organising your own Burns Night celebration.

Tip: At other times of the year, some venues may also offer you the option to incorporate a traditional recital of Robert Burns’ poem Address to a Haggis into your gala dinner. Ask your venue if they offer this.

Stage your own Highland games

A great way to entertain your delegates is to put on a mini Highland games  (particularly if you’re hiring a castle!). Delegates can have a go at traditional sports such as tug o’ war and caber toss, and track and field activities.

From May till September your delegates can also attend a traditional Highland games – the ideal way to experience real Scottish culture.
