Edinburgh Business Event Wins at Scottish Thistle Awards 2024
The Association of Cardiovascular Nursing & Allied Professions (ACNAP) Annual Conference 2023 was crowned Best Business Event at Scotland’s premier tourism and events awards.
Held at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) in June 2023, the conference was recognised for its transformative impact at the Scottish Thistle Awards national final, hosted at the Hilton Glasgow on Thursday 21 November.
The Best Business Event category celebrates business events as catalysts for economic and social transformation and recognises the value of business events as an industry.
Rising Star Award winner Hannah Cochrane

Rising Star Award from SEC, Glasgow
Hannah Cochrane, Sales & Business Development Manager of Conference Sales at the Scottish Event Campus (SEC), was awarded the Rising Star Award.
Joining the SEC team in March 2024, Hannah brought over 13 years of hospitality experience to her role as the SEC’s first Business Development Manager. Her efforts have quickly left a mark on the industry.
Hannah is also the founder of the networking group "Now That’s What I Call Networking" and is a passionate advocate for the events sector. She actively shares her knowledge with university students and local primary schools, inspiring the next generation.
