It’s been a busy summer for the VisitScotland Business Events team, with event activity taking place across the world to represent Scotland and share the incredible experiences and opportunities on offer.

During the event, the Scottish team conducted 30 appointments each and attended numerous networking and education sessions.

Connecting across continents

This June, VisitScotland Business Events attended M&I Transatlantic in Miami with Horizons by Tour Partner Group, Limitless DMC and The Caledonian, Edinburgh. The event provided a superb opportunity to connect with high calibre North American buyers, whilst also networking with a range of European buyers. During the event, the Scottish team conducted 30 appointments each and attended numerous networking and education sessions. Focus  now turns to the all-important follow up and bringing home business for Scotland.

Successful meetings

Another prosperous The Meetings Show at the end of June for VisitScotland, with partners Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC), Edinburgh Convention Bureau, Scottish Event Campus (SEC), Glasgow Convention Bureau, P&J Live, The Murrayfield Experience and Edinburgh Gin Distillery joining us on stand. Around 100 appointments took place over the two days with a mixture of UK, European and US buyers. Plus, a series of educational opportunities for partners and buyers with a huge focus on inclusivity and wellbeing within the events industry.

Spreading the word

We attended the inaugural EXPERIENCEit event in July, supporting EVENTit in taking the event outside of Scotland. We hosted a ‘Scotland zone’ with five Scottish partners including Glasgow Marriott Hotel, Delta Hotels by Marriott Edinburgh, Crieff Hydro Family of Hotels, Meetings Perthshire, Cameron House, and Fairmont St Andrews. Great conversations were had on the day with new Manchester-based MICE buyers.

Festival feeling

In July we attended the C&IT Festival of Forums in Newcastle with ten Scottish partners over three days. Bringing together the UK’s most influential corporate, agency, incentive and association planners for three unforgettable days, we took part in 21 appointments with buyers, both corporate and agency based.

Wellness-inspired

This was the first time VisitScotland Business Events and partners attended the Luxury & Wellness Meetings in Florida. This appointment-driven show connects North American buyers interested in small, high-end, wellness and spa events with suitable suppliers. Partnering with Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa, Edinburgh, we conducted 25 appointments and attended wellness-focused networking events. As the only international supplier in attendance, it was the perfect opportunity to put Scotland front and centre.

Breaking the ice

VisitScotland attended Break the ICE Forum for the first time in August, along with Brook Green DMC, Seaton House, St Andrews, W Edinburgh and Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa, Edinburgh.  Over three days each partner could meet with up to 70 buyers, take part in activities to discover Oslo and network at the gala dinner. Buyers came from throughout Europe, particularly Scandinavia and Benelux. This was an opportunity for VisitScotland to travel to Scandinavia to target these markets and promote the incredible experiences Scotland has to offer.

If we crossed paths during this incredible, connection-filled summer, it was a pleasure seeing you. Let’s keep the conversation going!

If you’re looking to create an unforgettable incentive trip, meeting, or conference, we’d love to be your trusted partner in Scotland. Reach out to us at business.events@visitscotland, we’re ready to bring your vision to life.
