Forging connections
The trip began in Vienna on the 14 November. During a welcome reception with drinks and canapes, Scottish partners Fairmont St Andrews, Rosebery Estates, National Museums Scotland, Hello Scotland DMC, and Kimpton Charlotte Square and InterContinental Edinburgh The George, had the opportunity to meet with incentive and meeting planners from corporate organisations and intermediaries such as Interplan and Sharp.
This was the first time that VisitScotland Business Events had brought Scottish partners to Austria. The evening provided a valuable platform for Scottish partners to showcase their venues and highlight the sustainable aspects of their businesses to the hosted buyers. The evening was rounded off in relaxed and convivial style with a six-course Scottish fusion dinner at a Michelin star restaurant. Each night, there was a special extra event designed to give a taste of Scotland, such as gin tasting with a sommelier, and Scottish tablet tasting.
The following day the group continued their journey to Munich, where they connected with a new group of event professionals and shared their businesses’ green credentials at a networking dinner and partner presentations at a vibrant vegan restaurant in Munich. The tour concluded the next day in Berlin where the group convened at a hotel and regenerative farm in Berlin, which served delicious local and ethically sourced produce.
