Between April 2024 and March 2025, 29 conferences were successfully bid for and won against tough UK and international competition.
As a result, 33,770 conference delegates are expected to travel to the area between now and 2030, equalling 96,550 room nights across the region.
Business events secured include the Global Agritourism Conference 2026, the European Social Work and Research Association 2026 and the European Nonlinear Oscillations Conference 2027.
Additionally, after eight years of bidding for the UK Stroke Forum, the flagship event of the UK Stroke Association, Aberdeen Convention Bureau and P&J Live have been successful in attracting the 20th UK Stroke Forum, which will take place in Aberdeen at P&J Live in November this year.
Laura Wilson, head of Aberdeen Convention Bureau, said: “With support from our funders at Opportunity North East, Aberdeen City Council and Aberdeenshire Council we are securing new business for a supply chain across the North-east ranging from caterers to transport providers to meetings and social venues.”
